2022: JAMB Announces Cut-off Marks for Varsities, Poly, Colleges

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced the national minimum cut-off marks for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
It said Universities are to consider 140 while polytechnics will adopt 100 as colleges of education.

The Registrar of Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede made the announcement at the 2022/2023 JAMB admissions policy meeting with the Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts of Nigerian higher institutions in Abuja.
Prof.Oloyede who announced the cut-off mark after a thorough debates and votes by the leadership of higher institutions in the country, noted that every institution has the right to fix its own cut-off mark up to 220 but no less than the agreed minimum marks of 100 for colleges of education and polytechnics and 140 for universities.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, while commending JAMB for the sanitizing its admissions process through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), pointed out that the 2022 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was the best in recent times.
Adamu Adamu revealed that the minimal cases of examination malpractices recorded was due to the interventions and collaboration of other technological know how deployed by JAMB.
He added that the federal ministry of education would continue to provide leadership support and encouragement to JAMB in pursuant of its official mandates,and urged other examination bodies to emulate JAMB in all these positive directions.
It was however resolved that December 31 would be the deadline for the 2022 admissions into all public and private institutions across the country.
