400-Level KWASU Student Commits Suicide

A 400-level student at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, identified as Rashidat Shittu, has taken her own life, INCNews247 reports.
According to sources, the incident occurred over the weekend when the 20-year-old final year student from the Department of Accounting consumed a lethal dose of the pesticide known as Sniper, reportedly due to academic pressures.

Witnesses revealed that after ingesting the poisonous substance, Shittu confided in her friends and hostel mates about the act, indicating her distress.
Following her discomfort, she was promptly taken to the school clinic before being transferred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
“Despite medical intervention, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at UITH,” INCNews247 further gathered.
At the press time, neither the school management nor the police had released an official statement regarding the matter.
