JUST IN: APC Sweeps Kwara LG Polls, Wins All Chairmanship, Councilorship Seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Kwara State Local Government elections, winning all 16 chairmanship and 193 councilorship positions.
The Kwara State Electoral Commission announced the results at a press briefing in Ilorin, confirming that five political parties – APC, APM, PDP, SDP, and Accord – participated in the elections.
The commission commended the peaceful conduct of the elections, which were carried out without significant disruptions or casualties.

According to the results, APC secured all 16 Local Government Area seats, with impressive margins in major councils.
In Ifelodun, APC polled 22,524 votes, leaving PDP and APM with 2,727 and 482 votes, respectively. Similarly, in Oyun, APC garnered 12,157 votes, while PDP and APM secured 356 and 387 votes.
Other notable results include Oke Ero (APC – 7,472, PDP – 1,168, APM – 224), Isin (APC – 8,173, PDP – 1,105, APM – 77), and Edu (APC – 23,963, PDP – 3,851, APM – 424).
The APC’s dominance was consistent across the state, with the party winning all councilorship positions.
The electoral commission praised security agencies for ensuring a peaceful election process and thanked the people of Kwara State for exercising their democratic rights.
With this victory, APC consolidates its hold on Kwara State, controlling all Local Government leadership positions.
