Boat Mishap: Kwara Speaker Leads Delegation to Condole Gbajigbo Village

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has led a powerful government delegation to condole with the people of Gbajigbo village over the recent boat mishap that claimed several lives.

Conveying the heartfelt sympathies of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was deeply saddened by the incident, Danladi-Salihu emphasized the importance of wearing life jackets and adhering to safety protocols to prevent such incidents.

“We are here on behalf of the Governor to register his heartfelt sadness over the unfortunate incident,” the Speaker stated. “As a compassionate leader, the Governor decided to send this powerful delegation to Kaiama to commiserate with the Emir, the victims, and the people of Gbajigbo, as well as to obtain first-hand information about the boat mishap.”

The Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Shehu Omar Bagidi Kiyaru IV, appreciated the delegation and Governor AbdulRazaq’s prompt response, praying for their safe travels in and out of Kaiama.

Danladi-Salihu later visited Gbajigbo, where he met with survivors of the mishap and community leaders.

He announced a cash donation of Two Million Naira for the medical bills of survivors and families of the deceased, with additional support from the State Emergency Management Agency.

The Speaker also promised that the basic health center and primary school in the community would soon be refurbished to enhance their effectiveness.

Community leaders and stakeholders in Gbajigbo commended Governor AbdulRazaq’s fatherly disposition and prayed for his administration.

The delegation included Hon. Saidu Baba, Hon. Abdullah Halidu Danbaba, Hon. Muhamma Baba Salihu, Hon. Abdullah Bata, Hon. Abdullah Danladi, Hon. Isa Jibril, Alhaji Umar Danladi Shero, and Hon. Sadiq Buhari.
