The Federal Government’s National Single Window (NSW) project has received renewed commitment from key agencies, with assurances that the initiative will be delivered by early 2026.
INCNews247 reports that the project, which was launched by President Bola Tinubu in April 2024, is designed to streamline trade procedures, improve transparency and cut revenue leakages in Nigeria’s import and export chain.
At a review session held at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, and the Director of the National Single Window, Tola Fakolade, expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, while commending the Nigeria Customs Service for hosting the implementation scheme.

“I can’t thank you all enough for the wonderful progress as I’m seeing everything being completed. This has become the official headquarters of the implementation. Nigeria Customs Service is playing host to the core implementation scheme of Single Window,” Adedeji said.
Fakolade disclosed that funds had been approved to support Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in upgrading IT infrastructure, while bi-weekly technical meetings would continue to resolve operational issues.
He also announced plans for zonal stakeholder engagement sessions across the country in October.
Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, reiterated the Service’s commitment to the project, assuring that the current momentum would be sustained.
“We are going to deliver on this mandate. At the rate that we are currently striking agreements on so many of these issues, I want to believe we would be right on target,” he said.
When fully operational, the NSW is expected to reduce cargo clearance times, lower trade costs, enhance competitiveness and create a seamless ecosystem for businesses.
