The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has, again, assured that ongoing military operations would lead to the rescue of the remaining abducted schoolgirls of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Agwara, Niger State.
The assurance was given on Monday in a statement detailing the operational activities of the Nigerian military covering the period between December 3 and December 12, 2025.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, said troops, working with other security agencies, were intensifying efforts to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted schoolgirls and other citizens currently in captivity across the country.

He urged members of the public and the media to avoid speculation and the circulation of unverified information, warning that such actions could jeopardise ongoing rescue efforts.
According to the DHQ, rescue of abducted persons remains a top priority for the military.
During the period under review, troops rescued 15 kidnapped victims in the North East, 10 in the North West, and 14 in Plateau and Kaduna states under Operation Enduring Peace.
In Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Kwara states and the Federal Capital Territory, additional operations led to the rescue of several abducted persons under Operation Whirl Stroke.
The military said efforts would continue until all abducted persons are safely reunited with their families.
