Emir of Ilorin Appoints New Balogun Ajikobi

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has appointed Alhaji Suleiman Omokayode Abdulwahab as the new Balogun Ajikobi of the Ilorin Emirate.
The appointment was contained in a statement by the Emir’s Personal Assistant, Dr. Abdulraheem Muritala on Friday.

Muritala said Abdulwahab, who until now was the District Head of Ipaye, will continue to oversee the affairs of the district in a transitional capacity pending the appointment of a substantive head.
In his prayers, the Emir wished the new Balogun long life, good health and divine wisdom to discharge his responsibilities effectively.
INCNews247 reports that Balogun Ajikobi is one of the most prominent traditional titles in Ilorin Emirate, carrying cultural and historical weight in the emirate’s hierarchy.
