Thirty-eight worshippers abducted at Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have regained their freedom after days in captivity, INCNews247 can report.
The development was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.
According to the statement, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq credited the successful rescue to the “hands-on and decisive intervention” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President personally coordinated efforts to secure the release of the victims.

Ajakaye stated that President Tinubu cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to focus on security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi states.
He added that the President also directed heightened security deployments to the state, including the dispatch of four additional tactical police teams.
The governor, through his spokesperson, commended the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Intelligence Agency for their roles in the operation.
He also appreciated traditional rulers, religious bodies, community leaders and residents for their support throughout the crisis.
