Fatal Crashes Rock Ogun State, Leaving Six Dead, Several Injured

Three separate accidents in Ogun State on Monday have resulted in the tragic deaths of six individuals and left twenty others injured, varying in severity, according to a statement by Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Ogun State Command.
INCNews247 gathered that the first incident occurred at Fidiwo along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around 3:40 a.m., involving a Toyota bus with plate number GBJ915XA and a second Golf vehicle without a plate number. Two individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries.
Preliminary reports suggest that the collision was likely caused by a driver overtaking another vehicle at high speed, leading to loss of control.
The deceased were taken to the FOS Morgue in Ipara Remo, while the injured were transported to Victory Hospital in Ogere.
In the second collision, which happened at approximately 5:18 a.m. on the Ijebu-ode-Ore-Benin Expressway following the Ajede junction, a Toyota bus with plate number RBC213XT was involved.
Among the twenty passengers onboard, three lost their lives, and seventeen others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
The injured were promptly taken to Roona Hospital and General Hospital Ijebu-Ode, while the deceased were placed in the General Hospital morgue.
The third accident, INCNews247 further learnt occurred after the Ajebamidele Bridge around 2 a.m. on the Ijebu-Ode-Ore-Benin Expressway.

An IVECO truck with license plate number TRE265XB, reportedly parked improperly on the road, was struck by a luxury bus traveling southeastward.
Out of the 29 individuals involved, one passed away, and two sustained injuries. The remaining 26 passengers emerged unscathed.
The deceased was placed in the morgue, while the injured were transported to Olaolu Clinic Ajebandele.
Responding, Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, emphasized the importance of cautious driving and adequate rest to combat exhaustion, urging drivers to prioritize road safety measures.
