FRSC Averts Disaster After Fuel Tanker Crash in Kaduna

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has prevented a major disaster following the crash of a fuel-laden tanker at NEPA Roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna, on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
INCNews247 learnt the incident, which occurred around 7:15 a.m., was reported to the RS1.1 Kaduna Sector command through a distress call, having a rescue team led by Deputy Route Commander, I. Gunda, was immediately deployed to the scene.
On arrival, FRSC personnel secured the area, closing all roads leading to the crashed tanker to avert secondary accidents and possible fire outbreak.

Traffic was diverted to ensure smooth vehicular movement and minimise congestion within the city.
The Federal Fire Service and the Nigerian Police Force joined the FRSC at the scene to safely evacuate the tanker’s fuel and remove the vehicle from the road.
No casualty was recorded at the time of reporting.
The Corps commended road users for their cooperation and urged motorists to remain calm, follow traffic directives, and exercise patience while recovery operations continue.
The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to proactive response, effective traffic management, and the protection of lives and property on Nigerian roads.
