The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced a capacity development programme for 341 Unit and Outpost Commanders to enhance their skills in traffic enforcement, road safety education, data analysis, leadership, and digital literacy.

The training, taking place at the FRSC Academy in Udi, Enugu State, is part of the Corps’ leadership programmes aimed at fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in field commands.

Assistant Corps Marshal Hyginus Omeje, representing Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, emphasized the critical role Unit and Outpost Commands play in enforcing traffic rules and regulations, contributing to the Corps’ mandate.

The Corps Marshal stated that the capacity-building program is designed to empower staff with the latest skills and knowledge in road safety management, investing in personnel for a safer future.

The training features theoretical and practical sessions, workshops, and mentoring by in-house and international experts, and will leverage technological innovations like the FRSC Mobile Application and National Crash Information Recording System Portal.

This follows the recent training of Road Marshal Operatives in Shendam, Plateau State, demonstrating the Corps’ commitment to repositioning itself as a leading road safety agency.
