Gov. AbdulRazaq Begins Comprehensive Upgrade of Olofa Stadium
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commenced the rehabilitation and upgrade of the historic Olofa Stadium in Offa, signalling what was described as the first major facelift for the facility in decades.
INCNews247 learnt the project, approved by the State Executive Council, is aimed at transforming the stadium into a modern sports arena that meets international standards.
According to the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, the move reflects the administration’s commitment to youth and sports development in Kwara State.

“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commenced the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Olofa Stadium in Offa, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to sports development in the state,” Fafoluyi said in a statement.
He added that the upgraded facility will feature an extended pavilion, natural grass turf, a solar-powered borehole, water-sprinkler systems, and an alternative power source — all part of efforts to make it a standard sports venue.
Fafoluyi noted that the project aligns with the Governor’s sustained investment in sports infrastructure, which has seen renovations and new projects across the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Indoor Sports Hall, Tennis Court, Baseball and Softball Arena, and the new Squash Court Complex.
The Olofa Stadium project is expected to enhance sports participation, nurture young talents, and further strengthen Kwara’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s emerging centres for grassroots sports.
