Gov. Namadi Urges Public to Assess His Performance Based on Campaign Promises

By Roselyn James

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has called on the public to evaluate his administration’s performance in light of the promises he made during his election campaign.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Ibrahim, made this announcement at a news conference marking his one-year tenure at the Manpower Development Institute (MDI) in Dutse.

Namadi affirmed that his administration had clear goals and direction before assuming office.

He emphasized that he did not enter office unprepared, stating, “Governor Umar Namadi, the 10th Governor and 5th civilian Governor, did not enter office empty-handed; he already had a 12-point agenda that addressed all of the state’s demands.”

This comprehensive document, according to Namadi, was presented to the people of Jigawa State throughout his campaign, serving as a guide for both the executive and legislative branches, demonstrating his commitment to fulfilling electoral mandates and addressing the needs of the populace.

Namadi urged the media to review this document and assess his administration’s performance accordingly. “Members of the press, I am advising you to read through the document and judge this administration based on its campaign promises,” he said.

The 12-point agenda focuses on improving the lives and economy of Jigawa State residents across various sectors, including agriculture, education, health, employment, information and communication technology, and environmental concerns.
