Gunmen Invade UniAbuja, Abduct 2 Profs., Son, Daughter

Gunmen suspected to be bandits raided the Senior Staff Quarters of the University of Abuja, UniAbuja, in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Tuesday morning, abducting two professors.
Six persons were reportedly kidnapped in the attack, which occurred at 1 a.m.
Prof. Bassey Ubom (together with his son and daughter), Prof. Obanza Malam, Sambo Mohammed, and Dr. Tobit were among those kidnapped.
The incident has already been confirmed by the university’s spokesman, Habib Yakoob.
Also, the information was shared on the official Facebook page of the university.
The information read, “Suspected bandits attacked the staff quarters of the university in the early hours of today.
“Our safety officers, in conjunction with security personnel, mobilised to secure the quarters.
“We have report that four of our staff and their children were, nevertheless, abducted by the evil men.
“Efforts are being made to ensure their safe return. A sad day for us, indeed! ”
The police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comments.
