IEDPU FCT Felicitates Elder Statesman LAK Jimoh at 85
The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU FCT has congratulated foremost Ilorin statesman and historian, Alhaji Lazeez Ayinla Kolawole (LAK) Jimoh, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as “a rare custodian of heritage and a pillar of wisdom whose contributions continue to shape the trajectory of the Ilorin Emirate.”
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Lukman Atanda Abdullah, the union said LAK Jimoh’s lifelong commitment to truth, scholarship and community advancement has earned him a place among the most respected voices in the emirate.

The IEDPU FCT noted that his role in documenting Ilorin’s history, strengthening communal harmony and promoting good governance remains invaluable, especially to the younger generation who look up to him for guidance and inspiration.
“As our father and distinguished elder marks yet another year, the IEDPU FCT joins countless admirers across the world to celebrate a man whose integrity, courage and intellectual clarity have contributed immensely to the growth of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State,” the statement read.
The union prayed that Almighty Allah grant him longer life in sound health, greater wisdom and continued relevance to the service of humanity.
