IEDPU Northern Zone Set to Hold Annual Convention in Suleja

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU Northern Zone is set to host its highly anticipated annual convention in Suleja.
The event is expected to bring together delegates from the 19 states of the Northern region and Abuja, representing 53 branches in total with two delegates per branch.
According to information obtained by INCNews247 at the weekend, the convention’s schedule is as follows:
1) Friday, 17th November, 2023: The arrival of delegates from the 19 states of the Northern region, along with those from Abuja. This marks the official commencement of the convention.
2) Saturday, 18th November, 2023: The convention’s Opening Ceremony will take place at the Lace Hotel, Alhassan Bako Drive, GRA, Suleja.

Delegates and guests will be treated to a diverse array of activities, including Kengbe entertainment, lectures, and speeches.
The theme of the convention is “Ilorin Emirate: A Unique Community in Nigeria.”
The event will also feature the presentation of Awards of Meritorious Service to deserving members and non-members, as well as a general reception.
The Opening Session would be graced by the presence of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, who also serves as the Life Patron of the Union, the National President of the Union, Alhaji Otta Aliyu Uthman fsi, and Barrister Ahmed Moyosore, the Zonal Chairman of IEDPU.
3) Working Session and Zonal Meetings: During this segment, crucial decisions regarding the Emirate and Northern Zone will be deliberated upon, and a communique will be issued at the conclusion of these meetings.
4) Visitation to the Emir of Suleja: As a special part of the convention, there will be a visitation to the Emir of Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, further strengthening the ties between Ilorin and Suleja Emirate.
The IEDPU Northern Zone’s annual convention promises to be an engaging and informative event that will not only celebrate the unique identity of the Ilorin Emirate but also provide a platform for important discussions and decisions affecting the Emirate and the Northern Zone as a whole.
The convention is open to the general public, and it is expected to draw a diverse and enthusiastic audience from across Nigeria and beyond.
