A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain in Kwara State, Azeez Adisa-Jaji, on Saturday declared his intention to contest the Ilorin North-West Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, describing himself as “an agent of change” determined to reverse what he called poor representation in Alanamu Ward.
Adisa-Jaji made the declaration at the PDP Secretariat in Alanamu, Ilorin West Local Government Area, where he declared his ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, the aspirant said his decision to join the race was driven by the need to restore effective and people-oriented representation in the constituency.

“I am an agent of change,” he said, adding that it was time to “change the hand of time” and reposition the constituency for growth and development.
He criticised the current state of representation in the area, alleging a lack of legislative impact and weak oversight of the executive arm, which he said had undermined democratic values.
According to him, the legislative arm must prioritise laws that improve the welfare of the people, enhance economic activities, and address pressing challenges such as insecurity.
Adisa-Jaji also pledged to champion transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance if elected, stressing that his leadership would reflect the will and aspirations of the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party, noting that his political ideology aligns with the party’s democratic principles and leadership tradition associated with Bukola Saraki.
The PDP aspirant further said his campaign would be guided by what he described as “Masses, Matters and Manners,” a framework he said would shape his legislative priorities and engagement with constituents.
Adisa-Jaji, who previously sought the party’s ticket in 2023, said he remained loyal to the PDP despite past setbacks, adding that his renewed ambition was aimed at delivering purposeful representation to the people of Ilorin North-West Constituency.
He appealed to party members and stakeholders in Alanamu Ward to support his bid, assuring them of his readiness to serve with integrity and commitment.
