JAMB Reschedules UTME Exam, Gives Reasons
By Alabidun Shuaib AbdulRahman
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has rescheduled the date for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, from April 29 to April 25, 2023.
The announcement was made by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.
Additionally, JAMB will hold its mock-UTME on April 18, 2023, which was originally scheduled for March 30 but was postponed due to technical hitches in some centres.

The mock-UTME is intended to test the board’s preparedness for the UTME and provide prospective candidates with hands-on experience of the CBT test environment.
Candidates who were screened for the March 30 mock-UTME but were unable to sit for the examination have been rescheduled to retake the mock-UTME on April 18.
Meanwhile, the results of candidates who successfully took the mock-UTME on March 30 have been released.
The adjustment in the UTME date was made to accommodate other major and critical national assignments, according to Benjamin.
He noted that the board does not have the liberty of shifting its examination forward as other public examinations are scheduled to commence in the early part of May 2023.
Another factor is the need to enable institutions with stable academic calendars to resume as scheduled.
