Stakeholders involved in the 2024 Hajj operations in Kwara State have commended Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe for his exceptional leadership and competence as the leader of Kwara contingents (Amirul-Hajj).

The commendations were made on Thursday during the 2nd Hajj Operation Stakeholders Meeting, organized by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin.

During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the smooth execution of the upcoming Hajj exercise.

According to a statement released by Oloriegbe’s media aide, Bolaji Aladie, the meeting was attended by notable figures including the NAHCON Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Afolabi Fijabi; the Airport Manager, Mrs. Yemisi Adebiyi; the Chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Prof. Mashood Mahmud Jimba; and representatives from various security agencies, among others.

In their separate briefings on preparations for the first flight on May 20, 2024, which will airlift the first batch of contingents to Saudi Arabia, stakeholders highlighted the significant contributions of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

They noted that the governor, through Senator Oloriegbe, has made critical interventions to ensure a smooth operation for the Kwara contingents.

Senator Oloriegbe, in his remarks, acknowledged Governor Abdulrazaq’s support and appealed for continued cooperation, understanding, and unity among all stakeholders to ensure a successful Hajj operation.

He also toured the airport facilities and the State Hajj Camp to assess their readiness, and visited the Pilgrims Welfare Board Office at Gerewu Area of Ilorin to oversee the ongoing pilgrims’ vaccination program and other activities.

The senator urged prospective pilgrims to remain cooperative and coordinated in their engagements with the Board’s staff to avoid any issues that could disrupt the Hajj operations.
