Lukman Atanda Becomes Chair as IEDPU FCT Elects New Leadership

Alhaji Lukman Atanda Abdullah has emerged as the new Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU, Federal Capital Territory, FCT chapter.
Atanda, who hails from Kubwa branch, was elected alongside other officials during the union’s quarterly meeting held at Iddo.
The election, conducted openly by a three-member electoral committee led by Alfa Yusuf Ibrahim Aamina, saw Alhaji Mashood Sulaiman from Gwagwalada branch emerge as Vice Chairman.

Other elected officials include Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo from Anagada branch as General Secretary, Malam Mahruf Onimago from Garki branch as Financial Secretary/Treasurer, Malam Abubakar Bello from Iddo branch as Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Musa Mukhtar from Mpape branch as Auditor.
The new Chairman, Alhaji Lukman Atanda, promised to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Alhaji Mashood Al-Kadriyar, who was praised for his “fatherly commitment to the unity of all branches in FCT.”
“We appreciate the efforts of Alhaji Mashood Al-Kadriyar for his selfless service to the association. We will continue to unite our branches and work towards the progress of our members,” Alhaji Atanda said.
The meeting also received a letter from Kuje branch, which was acknowledged by the new leadership.
The elected officials are expected to serve for the next tenure, steering the affairs of the FCT chapter.
As Alhaji Atanda noted, “Alhamdulillahi, we are committed to taking our association to greater heights.”
