Military Sustains Onslaught, Arrests 46 Bandits in North-West — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has said that troops of the Armed Forces sustained aggressive operations across the country in September, leading to significant gains against terrorists, bandits and violent extremists.
It said this in a statement on Friday by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, who noted that troops had intensified efforts to restore normalcy in all parts of the country.
According to the statement, troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East killed several Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters during coordinated land and air offensives in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States.

Kangye said 21 suspected informants, logistics suppliers and collaborators of the insurgents were arrested in Konduga, Mafa, Gwoza, Chibok, Kaga and Kukawa LGAs of Borno State, as well as Hong and Mubi North LGAs of Adamawa State.
In the North-West, troops under Operation Fansan Yamma conducted raids in Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano and Kaduna States.
“Several terrorists were killed, 46 arrested, and 13 kidnapped victims rescued,” the statement read.
It added that a wanted terrorist identified as Ali Saidu was captured in Katsina State.
The Defence Headquarters further said that troops of Operations Enduring Peace and Whirl Stroke neutralised extremists and arrested several suspects in Plateau, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Taraba States and the FCT, rescuing multiple victims.
Kangye said the military “will sustain the tempo of operations until peace and security are fully restored nationwide.”
