The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has finalised accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise in Makkah and Madinah, ahead of the deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Technical Assistant (Media) to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ahmad Muazu.

According to the statement, the accommodation uploads have been completed and approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The statement said the early conclusion of the process was in line with the directive of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima (GCON), that all critical Hajj arrangements should be finalised within approved Saudi timelines in order to safeguard Nigeria’s operational interests.

It added that the Chairman/CEO of the commission, Prof Abdullahi Saleh Usman, acknowledged the guidance and support of the Vice President throughout the process.

Muazu stated that the successful completion of the accommodation arrangements was also made possible through the efforts of a high-level delegation deployed to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, and the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards.

He noted that NAHCON staff and other relevant stakeholders equally played key roles in ensuring compliance with Saudi requirements within the stipulated period.

Muazu, quoting the NAHCON Chairman said, the development places Nigeria among countries that have concluded this critical aspect of Hajj preparations within the prescribed timelines.

He added that following the conclusion of the accommodation phase, the commission has commenced the next stage of operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj.
