NIMC Launches NINAuth Service for Secure Digital Identity

By Alabidun Shuaib AbdulRahman

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, has launched the NIN Authentication Service, NINAuth, a digital identity verification system designed to provide secure, real-time, and user-controlled access to government services.

Developed in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the NINAuth platform enables individuals to verify their identities while maintaining control over their personal data.

The system features an explicit consent mechanism, requiring users’ approval for every data-sharing instance.

The NINAuth app will be mandatory for various services, including SIM registration, immigration services, tax filing, driver’s license renewal, and government palliative programs.

INCNews247 reports that the platform is designed to be secure, scalable, and interoperable, allowing seamless integration with government agencies and institutions.

According to Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, the NINAuth service will serve as the exclusive platform for NIN-based verification and authentication across government platforms.

The app is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store, with a full implementation guide accessible via https://ninauth.nimc.gov.ng

This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and data protection in public service delivery, marking a significant step towards Nigeria’s digital transformation.
