NIN Enrollment is Free, Don’t Pay a Kobo – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that enrollment for the National Identification Number (NIN) is completely free.
In a statement obtained by INCNews247 on Friday, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, PhD, stated that “The Commission does not charge nor authorize any staff or its Front End Partners (FEP) to charge applicants for the NIN enrollment.”
Adegoke reiterated NIMC‘s commitment to providing seamless enrollment services, urging the public to report any instances of extortion.

“We assure the public of our utmost commitment to ensuring seamless enrollment services and pledge to stem the tide of extortion,” he stated.
To combat extortion, NIMC has directed security agencies to track down any staff or Front End Partners (FEPs) caught demanding money for NIN enrollment. Those found guilty will face sanctions in line with the law, and their licenses will be withdrawn.
