The National Productivity Centre (NPC) has celebrated its immediate past Director-General, Dr. Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha, with a befitting sendforth ceremony, where he was presented with a car in appreciation of his service to the Centre and Nigeria.
The event, held at the NPC headquarters in Abuja, brought together dignitaries, including a former DG of the Centre, Dr. Kashim Yunusa Akor, management staff, special guests, and family members of the celebrant.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director-General of NPC, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi, said the gesture was to honour the legacies of his predecessor, whom he described as a catalyst for productivity growth.

“Today, Allah has made it possible for me to be with you and other invited guests to celebrate you. There is nothing more important to me in life than when you leave a place and you are told you have done well, and we are praying for you,” he stated.
Dr. Dan’Agundi noted that the lack of proper reward systems hampers productivity, promising that as long as he remains in office, every retiring Head of Department will be presented with a car as part of their exit package.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Akor, who handed over to Dr. Raji-Mustapha, praised the honouree for his integrity and leadership, saying they worked together for eight years without blemish.
He added that it was gratifying to see his successor improve on his achievements.
Responding, Dr. Raji-Mustapha expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing productivity in Nigeria beyond his tenure.
He urged the Centre’s management to fast-track the approval of the Condition of Service and intensify efforts on staff welfare.
“Motivation is the key to productivity. There are two things that can improve productivity: your willingness to do the work and the ability to do the work,” he said.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a car gift to Dr. Raji-Mustapha, alongside similar rewards to other retiring directors, including Mrs. Rosemary Omoyeme Esekhagbe and Dr. (Mrs) Titilola Oshati. Certificates of Service and Awards of Honour were also presented to retirees.
The sendforth was widely described as a tribute to Dr. Raji-Mustapha’s exemplary service, which, according to speakers, has left a legacy of excellence and inspired renewed dedication to the Centre’s mandate.
