BREAKING: Pakistan ex-PM Imran Khan Shot, Wounded at Protest March

In an alleged assassination attempt, Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, was shot and injured while participating in a protest march in the eastern city of Wazirabad.
Four more people were reported injured on Thursday, according to members of his PTI party, but no one was killed.

He may have been struck in the foot or leg, but an assistant was reportedly quoted as claiming he was not in danger.
Following his removal, Mr. Khan, 70, led a march on the capital Islamabad to demand immediate elections.
A senior aide told AFP news agency: “This was an attempt to kill him, to assassinate him.” A male suspect was later arrested, according to Pakistan’s Geo TV.
Last month, Pakistan’s election commission disqualified Mr Khan from holding public office in a case described by the former star cricketer as politically motived.
He had been accused of incorrectly declaring details of gifts from foreign dignitaries and proceeds from their alleged sale. The gifts included Rolex watches, a ring and a pair of cuff links.
