Presidential Think-tank Postpones Summit on Infrastructural Protection
The Presidential Think-Tank Committee on Defence and Security has postponed the December 6th and 7th National Summit on the Protection of Nigeria’s Critical Infrastructure, Monuments, and Business Assets until a later date.
The emergency meeting of the Committee, convened and presided over by its Chairman, Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), at the National Defence College in Abuja, resulted in the decision to postpone the planned summit.
According to the Committee’s Chairman, the decision to postpone the National Summit was made owing to “unforeseen circumstances beyond manipulations and control.”
The Chairman Summit Planning Committee therefore appealed to the critical Stakeholders, Sponsors and prospective Participants to bear with the situation in this circumstance.
He however appealed to all sponsors to stay action on their moves to support this national course till a later date when the programme will hold.
The committee accordingly regretted all inconveniences the postponement of the summit might caused major partners like the resource persons as well as Military, Paramilitary and Civilian prospective participants.
The Committee rounded up its meeting by renewing its earlier appeal to the host communities where the National Infrastructural Monuments and Business Assets are sited not to relent in ensuring that they are well protected against any infraction by vandals.
