PTAD Disburses ₦5.12bn Pension Arrears to Over 90,000 Pensioners

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed a total of ₦5.12 billion in pension arrears to 90,689 Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners across the country.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, the payment covers outstanding entitlements across the agency’s four pension departments, in line with the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to settle inherited liabilities.

A breakdown of the figures as observed by INCNews247 shows that the Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) received ₦408.73 million for 12,773 pensioners covering one month, while the Police Pension Department (PPD) got ₦619.58 million for 9,681 retirees covering two months.
The Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD) was paid ₦276.03 million for 8,626 pensioners for one month, while the Parastatals Pension Department (PAPD) received the bulk of the payment — ₦3.81 billion for 59,609 retirees covering two months.
PTAD said the exercise reflects the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of senior citizens, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This payment reaffirms the administration’s resolve to ensure that pensioners receive their due entitlements as and when due,” the statement added.
