Ramadan: Kwara Speaker Hosts ASKOMP, NUJ Members

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Salihu Danladi, hosted the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) to a Ramadan Iftar at his official residence in Ilorin on Monday.
During the event, Danladi expressed his appreciation to ASKOMP, NUJ, and other journalists in the state for their cooperation and support to the Kwara State House of Assembly since his assumption of office in 2019.
He acknowledged the journalists’ commitment to upholding the ethics of the profession and providing balanced and fair reportage of activities and events in the state assembly.

Danladi implored the fourth estate of the realm to continue supporting Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration in its bid to build a prosperous Kwara.
In response, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek, thanked the Speaker for always associating with online media practitioners and described Danladi as a good ambassador of the young generation with an impressive performance as Kwara Assembly Speaker and community impact.
He reiterated ASKOMP’s commitment to objective and balanced reporting.
Similarly, the Kwara NUJ Chairman, Mallam Ahmed Abdullateef, congratulated Danladi on his recent victory at the poll, noting that his margin of defeat of his opponents was unprecedented and represented the trust and confidence of the people of Ilesha/Gwanara constituency in his representation.
Ahmed expressed appreciation for Danladi’s kind gesture and commended him for always being willing to partner with the media in advancing the course of a better Kwara.
He also assured Danladi that NUJ members would continue to report objectively, in pursuit of upholding the ethics of journalism, good governance, justice, and progress of the state.
