The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN has announced a five-hour power outage in parts of Kogi State on Tuesday to enable engineers carry out annual preventive maintenance at its Ajaokuta 330/132kV Transmission Substation.

The maintenance exercise, scheduled to commence at 10am and end at 3pm, will affect electricity supply to customers in Adogo, Anyigba, Ganaja and adjoining areas.

TCN, in a notice issued by its management on Monday, said the exercise was necessary to enable its maintenance crew work on the bay switchgear and associated equipment on the 132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Line 1.

According to the company, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to off-take electricity to customers in the affected areas during the maintenance period.

The transmission company assured consumers that electricity supply would be restored immediately after the exercise was completed.

“Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance exercise is completed,” TCN stated.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for the inconvenience the planned maintenance exercise might cause.

The annual maintenance is part of efforts by TCN to ensure the reliability and operational efficiency of its transmission infrastructure.
