BREAKING: Tinubu Scraps Niger Delta, Sports Ministries, Creates New One
President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) have announced the dissolution of the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the decision was reached during the FEC meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.
A new Ministry of Regional Development will oversee regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.

Onanuga added that this strategic move aims to streamline efforts and enhance efficiency.
In another significant development, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Sports Development will now be transferred to the National Sports Commission, which will oversee sports-related activities nationwide.
Furthermore, the FEC approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy, creating a single entity.
This consolidation is expected to foster greater synergy and growth in the tourism and creative sectors.
