Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have repelled coordinated terrorist attacks on multiple locations in Borno State, including Kanama, Ngoshe, and Banki.

The military disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday by the Media Information Officer, Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, who said the attacks, which occurred at different times on April 22, 2026, were “decisively defeated through the vigilant response of troops and effective fire control.”

Uba noted that no casualties or damage were recorded during the foiled assaults, adding that the outcome underscored “the sustained combat readiness of troops and their dominance in denying terrorists freedom of action.”

According to him, troops also carried out follow-up offensive operations, including precision air interdiction missions targeting terrorist enclaves.

He said, “At about 0315 hours on April 22, 2026, a precision strike was conducted at Sowolowolo in the Sambisa Forest axis after confirming the presence of terrorist assets. The strike successfully destroyed the remaining terrorist gun trucks in the area, bringing the total number of neutralised platforms to three.”

The military spokesperson further disclosed that another airstrike at Kaniram in the Mallam Fatori axis targeted insurgents who had gathered for burial activities following earlier operations.

“Scores of fleeing and regrouping terrorist elements were neutralised during the strike,” he added.

Uba also revealed that troops of Sector 1, under 26 Brigade, carried out search-and-rescue operations in the Mandara Mountains, leading to the rescue of 15 women and children abducted by terrorists.

He said the insurgents, in what he described as a “desperate but ineffective response,” fired projectiles into Gwoza, but caused no casualties or damage.

Appraising the significance of the operations, Uba said the coordinated successes demonstrated the military’s sustained offensive pressure and effective integration of air and ground forces.

“These efforts reflect our commitment to protecting civilians while dismantling terrorist capabilities. Troops will continue to maintain relentless operations to dominate the battlespace and ensure terrorists are decisively defeated,” he said.

He added that the Military High Command had commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience, urging them to sustain the operational momentum in ongoing operations across the North-East.
