Troops Kill Terrorists, Rescue Scores of Kidnapped Victims Nationwide — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said troops operating in various theatres across the country killed several terrorists, arrested scores of others and rescued 48 kidnapped victims within the last one week.
Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, stated this in Abuja while giving an update on military operations for the week ending 28 November 2025.
He said troops under Operation Hadin Kai in the North East continued to deny Boko Haram and ISWAP elements freedom of action in Borno and Adamawa states.

According to him, several terrorists were killed during encounters, while 11 of their informants and collaborators were arrested.
Eight commuters earlier abducted along the Gwoza–Limankara road were also rescued.
Air component missions in Sambisa Forest further destroyed terrorists’ storage facilities and neutralised additional fighters.
In the North West, he said troops under Operation Fansan Yamma conducted raids in Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger states.
The operations led to the arrest of 15 suspects, rescue of 13 kidnapped victims, and recovery of arms, livestock and vehicles.
A major logistics supplier was arrested in Bukkuyum LGA of Zamfara State with evidence of N4m in arms-related transactions.
Onoja also said troops of Operations Enduring Peace and Whirl Stroke in Plateau, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi and Taraba states arrested 31 suspects, including a notorious extremist, Umar Idi (also known as Lere).
Ten kidnapped victims were freed during the operations.
In the Niger Delta, troops of Operation Delta Safe stopped crude oil theft valued at N173.7m, destroyed 11 illegal refineries and arrested 13 suspected vandals.
He said troops of Operation Udo Ka in the South East also arrested seven suspects and rescued five kidnapped persons, while airstrikes at Ezeagu in Enugu State destroyed camps used by armed groups.
Onoja urged residents to continue sharing credible information with security agencies, saying the military remains committed to restoring peace across the country.
