Troops Kill Scores of Terrorists, Rescue 43 Hostages Across Six States

Troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria have intensified their operations against insurgents, bandits, and other criminal groups, killing several terrorists and rescuing at least 43 kidnapped victims across the country in the last week.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, made this known while briefing journalists on the ongoing military operations for the week ending October 9, 2025, in Abuja.
Kangye said troops of Operation Hadin Kai sustained their tempo in the North-East, recording major victories against Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Bama, Damboa, Konduga, Gwoza, Ngala and Kukawa areas of Borno State, as well as in Adamawa and Yobe States.

He disclosed that troops neutralised several insurgents, arrested nine suspects, and rescued three abductees.
In another operation between October 4 and 6, twelve suspected collaborators and informants were picked up in Chibok, Gubio, Mubi South and Geidam.
In the North-West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, troops engaged in offensive operations in parts of Kaduna, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto States, where they eliminated more terrorists, arrested eight suspects, and freed 33 kidnapped victims.
Troops also recovered ₦3 million, believed to be ransom money, alongside motorcycles and mobile phones.
Kangye reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to sustain pressure on criminal groups, stressing that ongoing operations reflect the military’s determination to restore lasting peace across all regions.
