NAHCON Inaugurates 32-Man Committee for 2025 Hajj Operations

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has inaugurated a 32-man Screening/Aviation Monitoring Committee to oversee the selection of air carriers and cargo conveyers for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
The committee, chaired by NAHCON’s Commissioner of Operations, Inspection and Licensing (OILS), Prince Anofi Olanrewaju Elegushi, comprises representatives from various aviation industry stakeholders, state pilgrims’ welfare boards, and security agencies.
INCNews247 reports that the inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Hajj House in Abuja, marked the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the 2025 Hajj operations.

It was learnt that eleven airlines, including two from Saudi Arabia, have expressed interest in providing airlift services for Nigerian pilgrims.
The airlines are FlyNas, Flyadeal, Air Peace, GYRO Air Limited, Max Air Ltd, Nahco Aviance, Tarco Aviation, Umra Airline Limited, UMZA Aviation Services Limited, Value Jet, and Trebet Aviation Ltd.
In addition to the airlines, five cargo companies have applied to provide excess luggage transportation services.
These companies are Aglow Aviation Support Services Limited, Cargo Zeal Technologies, Qualla Investment, Kiswah Logistics Services Limited, and Sokodeke Global Travels and Cargo.
The committee’s terms of reference include screening prospective carriers, determining their suitability and capability, and establishing criteria for recommending applicants.
They will also inspect and assess the readiness of airports, monitor inbound and outbound flights, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, emphasized the importance of the committee’s work, urging members to commit to providing excellent services to pilgrims.
The committee is expected to submit its report by December 2, 2024.
