NIMC Trains Corps Members for NIN Enrolment Drive

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has commenced the training of selected National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to drive National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment across all wards in Nigeria.

 

INCNews247 reports that the initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to enroll and issue NINs to all Nigerians and legal residents.

 

The training is being carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Development.

According to Engr (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, NIMC DG/CEO, the initiative aims to take NIN enrolment closer to the people. “This initiative aims to take NIN enrolment closer to the people,” she stated.

 

With over 120 million Nigerians and legal residents already enrolled, NIMC intends to cover hitherto unreachable areas through the Ward Enrolment initiative.

 

Coker-Odusote appreciated the support of President Tinubu, Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, and NYSC DG, Brigade-General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu.

 

The Corps members are being trained to facilitate the enrolment process, especially for children below 16 years.

 

“NIMC has enrolled and issued the NIN to over 120M Nigerians and legal residents, and we intend to cover hitherto unreachable areas through the Ward Enrolment initiative,” Coker-Odusote stated.
