TMV Applauds FG’s Monthly Revenue Dashboards, Says Move Will Curb Corruption

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has commended the Federal Government for introducing monthly revenue dashboards aimed at enhancing transparency in income and expenditure across the three tiers of government.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group expressed confidence that the initiative would significantly reduce corruption and strengthen accountability in public finance management.
TMV noted that the Federal Government, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, adopted the dashboard template to monitor and track resources accruing to the federal, state and local governments.

According to the group, this development follows the presidential executive order that freed up more oil revenues from NNPC Limited and anticipated inflows from the implementation of the new tax reforms.
The group stated in part: “We acknowledge that the Federal Government, under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, has decided to utilise this template to monitor and track the enormous resources that would be accruing to the three tiers of government following the presidential executive order freeing more oil revenues from NNPC Ltd, as well as the huge revenues expected from the implementation of the new tax act.
“We agree with the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, that with the improved finances, there would be productive capital deployment.”
TMV further expressed satisfaction that the initiative would encourage governments at all levels to prioritise capital expenditure over recurrent spending.
It said such a shift would translate into increased investments in infrastructure, agriculture, energy and other productive sectors, while reducing consumption-driven pressures within the economy.
According to the group, improved revenue inflows would also enable federal, state and local governments to reduce their debt burdens, clear outstanding arrears and channel more resources into growth-enhancing sectors.
The statement added that the revenue dashboards would provide Nigerians with clearer visibility into government earnings and spending patterns, thereby empowering citizens to demand greater accountability from public officials.
TMV maintained that sustained transparency in fiscal operations remains critical to strengthening public trust and ensuring that increased revenues translate into tangible socio-economic development across the country.
