The Nigerian Army has deployed over 850 additional troops to Plateau State in a renewed effort to contain the worsening security situation in parts of the state.

The deployment, approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, is aimed at reinforcing ongoing operations under Operation ENDURING PEACE and restoring calm in affected communities.

Speaking during a visit to troops at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE in Jos, the army chief charged personnel to remain professional, disciplined and resolute in tackling criminal elements threatening public safety.

He assured the troops of adequate logistical support and the provision of necessary combat enablers to ensure the successful execution of their mandate.

Shaibu emphasised the importance of protecting lives and property, urging the soldiers to uphold the highest standards of conduct while carrying out their duties.

INCNews247 reports that the reinforcements, drawn from formations in Abuja and Kaduna, are expected to bolster efforts already underway to de-escalate crises and strengthen security across the state.
