BBYDI M&E Director, 23 Others to Join Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship
The Director of M and E Research and Innovation at Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative, Mr Abdulhakeem Abdulkareem is set to join 23 others to be inducted into the prestigious Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship. The Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship is a flagship of Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State, where exceptional leaders spend a period of one year working with the state government and building public sector leadership capabilities.
The 24 Fellows include 12 Male and 12 Females, selected from 16 states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory, making it the most diverse cohort since the Inception of the Fellowship.
Abdulhakeem is selected out of the over 1000 successful applications received for the 2021/2022 fourth Cohort of the Fellowship. The Fellowship’s objective is to develop and nurture leadership ability across Nigeria, with specific focus on the promising leaders of the future. The one-year Fellowship aims to create a network of high potential young Nigerians who are expected to rise to top leadership positions in the public sector and other spheres of activity over the next decade.
As a fellow, Abdulhakeem and his 23 other colleagues will work at different ministries and departments in Kaduna State and will earn a Salary of a Special Assistant to the Governor. They will also have the opportunity to meet and interact different leaders in Nigeria and learn the rudiments of public service.
Aside his volunteering work with BBYDI, Abdulhakeem is a programs and policy consultant with experience working on multiple World Bank-supported projects for the Nigerian Identity Management Commission, Federal Ministry of Education and Bureau of Public Service Reforms, among others.
He is currently a pioneer student of the unconventional School of Policy Politics and Governance (SPPG), a seven-month programme where students are learning empirical and innovative methods of solving Africa’s complex development challenges.
