BON Commends Defence Minister Over Victory Against Insecurity

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) has lauded the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, for the significant strides recorded in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
This acknowledgment comes on the heels of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unrelenting efforts to curb insurgency and banditry across the country.
Representing BON’s Chairman and NTA’s Director-General, Comrade Salihu Dembos, High Chief Tony Akiotu praised the Minister’s collaborative approach, noting that it has helped checkmate insurgents and bandits nationwide.

Akiotu commended the Armed Forces’ sacrifices, ensuring peace and security for all Nigerians.
Honourable Minister Badaru Abubakar expressed gratitude for the media’s role in shaping national discourse on security.
He emphasized the synergy between the Armed Forces and security agencies, highlighting the effectiveness of kinetic and non-kinetic strategies in recent military successes.
The Minister noted significant progress in addressing security challenges, with insurgents being neutralized and high-profile bandits arrested, saying these efforts have restored confidence in affected regions.
Badaru welcomed BON’s proposal for training and capacity building in broadcast media, recognizing the media’s critical role in promoting national security.
“Together, we can harness radio and television to inform, educate, and promote security objectives,” he remarked.
This courtesy visit solidifies the shared commitment between the Ministry of Defence and the media to foster peace and stability in Nigeria.
