Gen. Buratai Visits Wounded Soldiers in Kaduna Hospital
Some wounded soldiers who are receiving treatment at the Nigerian Army 44 Reference Hospital, Kaduna, say they are well catered for in terms of treatment and welfare by the army.
They also expressed their readiness to return to the battle front when they are fully recovered.
Sgt. Yakubu Gajawa, a soldier of Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Magumeri, said he was brought to the hospital few days ago after he was wounded in action.
Gajawa said he was adequately being taken care off in the hospital, adding that the medical attention was excellent.
“The attention we are receiving here is excellent and I am happy.
“I am 100 per cent ready to go back to the war front because I am not panic because this one is from God and I thank my God that I still have my legs.
“If I am well today I will go back to my duty post to continue the fight.
“If I don’t go back what then makes me a soldier?
“My duty is to fight the battle and I must fight it and we must end it by the grace of God,” he said.
Another solder, Pte. Afolayan Sunday, a troop of 29 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, said he sustained the injury in an ambush on Dec. 25, 2019 at Jakana in Borno.
Sunday said he was being given adequate medical attention for over a year in the hospital, adding that his allowances were also being paid promptly.
“Since I have been here, our feeding, our allowances and everything is well taken care of.
“I feel good and ready to return to the battle front to go and finish the fight because it is what I signed for,” he said.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, toured the wards where wounded troops are receiving treatment after he inaugurated the Remodeled Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital.
Gen Buratai was accompanied by the Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Army Major General Nuhu Angbazo, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Major General Usman Mohammed, Chief of Logistics Army Major General IO Uzamere and Commander Nigerian Army Medical Corps Colonel Solebo among other senior army officers at the occasion.
