Counterterrorism: 151 Terrorists Eliminated in Recent Military Operations — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has announced substantial achievements in recent military operations carried out across Nigeria.
According to Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations on Thursday in Abuja, a total of 151 terrorists have been eliminated, and 456 others apprehended over the last two weeks in various operations.
Maj.-Gen. Buba provided specific details of the operations, highlighting the success of Operation Hadin Kai in neutralizing 44 terrorists, arresting 21 individuals, and successfully rescuing four kidnapped hostages.

The troops also recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including 17 AK47 rifles, three locally fabricated rifles, and more.
In the North Central region, Operation Safe Haven resulted in the elimination of 16 terrorists, the apprehension of 16 suspects, and the rescue of a kidnapped hostage. Furthermore, weapons and ammunition were recovered, including 12 AK47 rifles and two pistols.
Operation Whirl Stroke led to the neutralization of 15 terrorists, the arrest of six, and the successful rescue of one kidnapped hostage. Arms and ammunition were also recovered in this operation.
In the North West, the combined efforts of Operations Hadarin Daji and Whirl Punch resulted in the neutralization of 35 terrorists, the arrest of eight, and the rescue of 17 kidnapped hostages. The air components of these operations conducted airstrikes to further eliminate terrorists from their hideouts.
Maj.-Gen. Buba emphasized that various weapons, including pistols, dane guns, and ammunition, were confiscated, along with vehicles, motorcycles, and other items. Additionally, suspected terrorists’ collaborators were apprehended in specific locations across Borno, Yobe, and other areas.
