DSS Nabs Suspected Major Arms Maker Supplying Plateau, Northern Bandits
Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, have arrested a suspected key arms manufacturer, Musa Abubakar, alleged to be a major supplier of weapons to violent groups operating in Plateau State and other parts of the North.
INCNews247 learnt that Abubakar was picked up on November 12, 2025, after the Service received what security sources described as “precise and credible intelligence” on his activities.
The intelligence reportedly led to a sting operation on his workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

INCNews247 further gathered that the suspect confessed to fabricating and distributing high-calibre weapons and ammunition to armed groups responsible for recurrent attacks in Plateau and neighbouring states.
“He was apprehended red-handed with various IED components, chemicals and equipment used for manufacturing weapons. All items have been confiscated,” the service said.
His arrest comes barely days after the DSS re-arrested a notorious Kuje Prison escapee, Abdulazeez Obadaki, alias Bomboy, said to be behind the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks.
It would be recalled that the Service recently arrested nine high-profile suspects linked to deadly attacks in Plateau and Benue states.
Among them is 46-year-old Timna Manjol of First Baptist Church, Mangu LGA, who has already pleaded guilty to two out of four charges, including illegal possession of firearms, in case number FHC/ABJ/CR/451/2025.
