FG Approves Mass Promotion in FRSC, 3 Top Officers to Retire

In a major shake-up in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 21 Corps Commanders to Assistant Corps Marshals, 11 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commanders, and 17 Assistant Corps Commanders to Deputy Corps Commanders.

The promoted Assistant Corps Marshals include the Corps Secretary, ACM LD Shehu, Corps Legal Adviser, ACM KD Gonji, and Corps Public Education Officer, ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide, among others.

Also elevated are ACM G Ntukidem, Corps Intelligence Officer; ACM AT Hassan, Corps Provost; ACM MR Sabiya, Corps Budget Officer; and ACM KA Ibrahim, Corps Transport Standardisation Office.

Other promoted Assistant Corps Marshals are ACM CM Onukwubiri, Sector Commander Bayelsa; ACM TA Mohammed; ACM SU Galadanchi, in charge of Command Administration and Strategy; ACM YA Haruna, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS3HQ Yola; ACM A Umar; ACM EF Akinlade, in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation; ACM AA Irelewuyi, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS4HQ Jos; ACM YD Dio, Head of Session, Personnel, Administration and Human Resources Department; ACM ST Agure, Federal Operations; ACM M Yakubu, Commandant Road Marshal Assistant Training School, Shendam; and ACM HA Godwin, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS11HQ Osogbo.

However, three senior officers – ACM DI Okuobeya, ACM AS Ochi, and ACM Adekanye – will proceed on immediate retirement.

Additionally, 11 Corps Commanders were promoted, including Corps Information Technology Officer/Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal, Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan, alongside DCC EE Uzoma and 16 others who were elevated to Deputy Corps Commanders.

Senator Akume commended the transparency and objectivity of the promotion process, urging the appointed officers to rededicate themselves to achieving the FRSC’s vision of eradicating road traffic crashes.

According to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, every promotion comes with greater responsibilities, and the newly elevated officers must demonstrate more focus, dedication, commitment, and passion.

Mohammed also promised to improve the welfare of FRSC personnel, encouraging those who were not promoted to remain loyal and committed to the system.
