The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, has commended officers and men of the corps for what he described as exemplary service and professionalism during the Christmas travel operations across the country.

Mohammed, in an address to personnel, said the performance of FRSC operatives during the festive period was outstanding, noting that their resilience and strategic interventions helped to ease traffic congestion on major highways, including the heavily congested Lokoja axis and other critical corridors nationwide.

He said the ability of the personnel to manage intense traffic pressure, long working hours, harsh weather conditions and high vehicular volume, while maintaining discipline and professionalism, showed the corps’ readiness to safeguard lives under challenging circumstances.

According to the FRSC boss, many officers went beyond the call of duty, working tirelessly to ensure smooth traffic flow at a time Nigerians needed them most.

He added that the success recorded during the Christmas travels reflected improved operational efficiency, stronger coordination and effective leadership at all levels of the corps.

Mohammed also acknowledged the sacrifices made by officers who remained on duty while others celebrated with their families, describing their commitment as a true demonstration of service and patriotism.

The Corps Marshal urged personnel to sustain the tempo and remain vigilant as traffic volume remains high ahead of the New Year festivities, assuring Nigerians of the FRSC’s continued commitment to safer highways and hitch-free travel nationwide.

He reaffirmed that the Federal Road Safety Corps remains committed to its statutory mandate of reducing road crashes, promoting responsible road use and protecting lives on Nigerian roads.
