How I Was Denied to Perform in Nigeria Over Indecent Dressing — Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage, a popular musician, revealed that when she returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom to pursue her musical career, she was barred from playing at concerts because her attire was considered “too risqué.” She admitted that some of her previous music videos were not aired because they were judged immoral.
In a recent BET interview, the ‘Koroba’ hitmaker revealed this. Savage stated, “When I initially moved back, I would show up to a gig and be told I couldn’t play because my indecent dressing was too provocative.
“It was a cultural issue. Even some of my earlier music videos were not aired on television because they were deemed inappropriate. I was not even wearing bikinis.
“In spite of the failures, I remained stubborn. My dresses become more exposing. It was simply getting worse. They were criticizing me online.
“It was funny because the women were secretly in love with me and my style. They were unable to deny it. My fanbase, my followers, was expanding. So they had to book me for shows and play my music because there was a demand.”
Tiwa Savage recently revealed the idea for her recently released film, “Water & Garri”. Salvage claimed that she got the movie idea while drunk. She made the announcement during Livespot Entertainment’s pre-launch news conference.
Tiwa Savage, the award-winning Afrobeat artist, stated, “I’ve said this before, but this is an idea I had in my head while drunk in my room, and when I brought it to my amazing team, they didn’t make me feel stupid.” They just remarked it was a fantastic concept.”
