INEC Swears in New REC for FCT

Mahmuda Isah has been sworn in by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for his reappointment as Resident Electoral Commissioner, marking his second and final term.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC on Tuesday.
Having previously served in Jigawa and Kaduna States, Isah has now been deployed to the Federal Capital Territory.

The statement highlighted Isah’s academic background, noting that he holds a PhD in Petroleum Law.
His initial appointment took place in January 2018, and after completing his tenure in January 2023, he has been granted this reappointment.
During the Commission’s weekly meeting, which was attended by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, National Commissioners, and the Secretary to the Commission, Isah took his oath of office.
In this regard, Prof. Yakubu emphasised the importance of loyalty to the Nigerian people and compliance with the provisions of the law.
