Stressing that while innovation fuels growth, sustainability hinges on effective security measures, he underscored the need for a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity for young minds.
Inuwa who was represented by Engr Mohammed Kabiru of the Agency’s Cybersecurity Department at the Nigeria Teen Cyber Festival 2023, emphasized the importance of incorporating cybersecurity and digital literacy into educational curricula.

The festival aimed to stimulate innovation, encourage idea exchange among young individuals, and foster a healthy online culture by educating participants on cybersecurity and online privacy.
Inuwa asserted shared responsibilities, noting that both individuals and entities, including tech giants and governments, play crucial roles in safeguarding the digital space.
He credited NITDA’s proactive role in the drafting of the CyberCrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, which provides a comprehensive legal framework for addressing cybercrimes in Nigeria.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the youth in the digital revolution, Inuwa acknowledged their contribution to applications, platforms, and solutions shaping the global landscape.
However, he cautioned against cyber threats, ranging from deep fakes to identity theft, emphasizing the need for vigilance in an interconnected world.
While acknowledging the potential of the digital economy as both a playground and a fortress for young minds, Inuwa called for a balanced approach, urging the encouragement of innovation alongside a focus on internet safety.
He concluded by advocating for the provision of skills, knowledge, and fortitude to guide the youth toward a future where technology aligns with trust, safety, and collective advancement.
