Kwara Govt, Simba TVS Open ‘State-of-the-Art’ Tricycle Workshop in Offa

The Kwara State government, has Tuesday said its administration is committed to making the appropriate investments in human capital, job creation, infrastructure development, and security architecture in order to promote socio-economic growth and investor safety.
At the commissioning of a state-of-the-art fully equipped, company-run tricycle workshop in Offa, Offa local government area of the state, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor for Community Intervention Kayode Oyin-Zubair gave the indication.
The workshop, which was in collaboration with Simba TVS tricycle, was created with the sole purpose of providing genuine tricycle spare parts to local mechanics and spares dealers in various regions of the state and beyond.

Oyin-Zubair noted that, “This workshop will be focused on the development and enhancement of the support infrastructure: spares, technical services and engine oil, easily accessible to the people instead of travelling to Ibadan or Lagos State”.
He added that the workshop will provide job opportunities for the people and also improve the economy of the state, as the workshop is the first in the North Central region and also the location is picked to cater for people in the southwestern state of Osun, Ekiti and some parts of Oyo State.
He said the state’s partnership with Simba Company was not afresh, recalling the fruits of their synergy on community transport system and agriculture (irrigation) last year.
“The government has facilitated smooth mega service programs for the SIMBA TVS in 2020 with the release of the Metropolitan Square, which he added, involved a free engine service for about 500 TVS tricycles on each occasion, as manufactured by the company.
In his remarks, TVS SIMBA Business Development Manager, Varinder Jha, said the opening of the new workshop in Kwara is further testimony to the commitment to ensuring its customers have unfettered access to its spare parts and best technical services.
He said “The opening of this workshop is supporting the nationwide availability of service centres, which is driven by our desire to support our customers across the length and breadth of Nigeria”.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kwara State Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olayinka Onikijipa commended the state government for the initiative, noting that the establishment of the workshop in the state would save unions extra cash and time in travelling outside of the state to buy spare parts.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of Simba TVS brand of tricycles, saying the products were road worthy and bound to return profits to commercial drivers.
Also speaking, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin, the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, said the workshop will contribute to the development of the economy of Offa and Kwara state as a whole to be assembling and repairing of TVS motorcycle.
He called on the government to invest more in the transport business because it posses the ability to drastically reduce the employment rate in the country.
