Moshood Bakare Declares Ambition, Launches N100m Empowerment in Kwara South

Moshood Bakare, a loyal member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his ambition to contest for the House of Representatives seat to represent Oyun, Offa, and Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Kwara South.
Concurrently, he launched a ₦100 million empowerment fund through the Moshood Bakare Foundation, aimed at supporting businesses, education, and healthcare needs across Oyun, Offa, and Ifelodun Local Government Areas.
The launch event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of beneficiaries, community leaders, and members of the PDP.

At the event, business grants, educational materials, and medical support were distributed to beneficiaries, showcasing the Foundation’s commitment to impactful community development.
As part of the outreach, Hon. Moshood Bakare also donated clothing and cash gifts to all PDP ward coordinators, including PDP woman leaders, across the three local government areas, recognizing their grassroots efforts and commitment to community development.
Hon. Bakare reiterated his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people during his remarks.
He recalled his earlier gesture of sponsoring over 500 students for JAMB registration, demonstrating that his track record of service predates any political ambition.
Hon. Bakare while declaring his intention to contest for the House of Representatives to represent Oyun, Offa, and Ifelodun Federal Constituency under the PDP said “I have been in politics for a long time and I remain committed to my party, the PDP. My focus has always been on real, practical solutions for our people”.
“This empowerment project is not a campaign gimmick—it is a reflection of what I stand for.”
The highlight of the event was the open show of appreciation and support from PDP woman coordinators and party members, who praised Hon. Bakare’s commitment, consistency, and generosity.
Speaking on behalf of the women leaders, one of the coordinators said, “This is the kind of leadership we have been waiting for. Hon. Bakare has shown us that action speaks louder than words. We thank him and we are ready to stand by him.”
Other party members also echoed similar sentiments, urging community members to rally around a man who has consistently demonstrated his capacity to lead and serve.
Moshood Bakare, born in Omupo, Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State, has a background in politics, having served as a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Omupo constituency from 2015 to 2019.
He previously worked as Executive Private Secretary and Personal Assistant to the then Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
